"The fallout 'moved east and then north-east towards the Queensland coast, missing the rain areas in New South Wales and Victoria as predicted'."

I remember that as a young kid. I was at my grandmother's house on holidays and both my grandmother and mother stopped us kids playing cricket in the backyard and made us come inside when it looked like it would sprinkle rain.

There was considerable fear about the fallout even though we were about 1,500 miles from the blast.

Incidentally, at the time the prime minister Robert Menzies who led the liberal party was exceptionally pro British. This warmongering bastard later introduced conscription that sent young guys of my age off to Vietnam—a war that we should never have been involved in.

Wishing you continued excellent health and peace—I hope you're able to live it to the fullest for those who didn't come back from Vietnam.

Words fail me. That's the kindest thing a stranger has said to me in a long time. Thank you very much indeed.
