Not on topic: this is one of the issues with not showing any indication of the votes. When you ask something and get lots of answers you have no way to know which are being upvoted or not. I did upvote one and I'm sure more people did, I was actually very curious with the result of this mini-poll. That also explains why there are several answers with the same trend, redundancy is the only to show a trend when a question is posted on the comments.

Yes. Honestly it's ability to "intelligently" know what I'm trying to select (for copy/paste or whatever) with the mouse is better than any other terminal I've used (OS X, Ubuntu, etc).

I have it installed on every windows box I have, and that includes recent windows 7 desktop.

The few times I touch Windows, it's pretty much the most used program alongside Chrome and Sublime Text 2.

PuTTY and Cygwin are still the most popular ways to get an SSH client on Windows, so far as I'm aware.

I prefer PuTTy a hell of a lot more for the wonderful copy+paste right-clicks.

Huh, I'd never heard of puttycyg. I always just ran a cygwin sshd on a local port and used putty to connect to that.

Yes. It's still by far the most popular SSH client for Windows.

For the most part. I've personally switched to PenguiNet (a combined SSH/SCP client), but it's commercial software.

I prefer PuTTYtray, it includes URL hyperlinking, tray minimization, and a few other nice features.

I prefer it too. Shame it isn't updated anymore and the author has no plans to resume updating it.

More or less—there are some alternatives or ones that build upon PuTTY (Like, adding tabs) though.

It's my primary work tool for embedded c/c++. That and vim.
